I'm thinking this is something I need to do but want to go into it with some info.

What do you hope to achieve?
If your goals aren't met, what then? How far do you intend to take it?

The means are fairly easy. The results are harder. I know how to do it, it's pretty damn simple, but I won't discuss it 'til you answer those questions.

It's very different than going without food for three or four weeks. And does sfexpat's strike only mean food or does it include water as well? For how long? It's a pretty damn serious undertaking, since you can end up doing serious harm to your body. Which is why I want answers to those questions before I say anything at all that will help in this.

In fact, I would advise against it categorically. You rarely achieve what you set out to achieve and you can end up doing irreparable harm to yourself.

Very different from weeks, and obviously you're getting the electrolytes your body needs.

You sound like you have some personal experiences with the hunger strike? Care to share a story?

5. It's very different

I do have some personal experience, but I'm not in the mood to relive it. I was young, dumb and thought it was a romantic and a powerful way to make a point. It wasn't. If sfexpat is serious, she needs to answer some hard questions first and she needs to know exactly what is likely to happen to her.

And I am absolutely deadly serious about that.

Well, I'm still gathering information. I can't commit to anything until I know the consequences, right?

I know that fasting can kill you. It can cause heart attacks, for one thing. I suppose I want to know consequences at a few days, at one week and so on.

Also, the legalities. Can one be force fed in Bushworld? Particularly if one is protesting Bushworld and is a potential embarassment?
