Erotic moments from Bible...
BERLIN (Reuters) - A German Protestant youth group has put together a 2006 calendar with 12 staged photos depicting erotic scenes from the Bible, including a bare-breasted Delilah cutting Samson's hair and a nude Eve offering an apple.

"There's a whole range of biblical scriptures simply bursting with eroticism," said Stefan Wiest, the 32-year-old photographer who took the titillating pictures.

Anne Rohmer, 21, poses on a doorstep in garters and stockings as the prostitute Rahab, who is mentioned in both New and Old Testaments. "We wanted to represent the Bible in a different way and to interest young people," she told Reuters.

2. The Bible is chock full of smut
as well as violence, greed and other evils. Nonetheless, the Fundies run around decrying things like Harry Potter while dutifully sitting their kids down to read the "wholesome" Bible. :eyes:

6. The Bible edition we had at home...
during my childhood was filed with pictures depicting many of the gory Bible stories. It was pretty damned creepy.

7. I'm not surprised
Depending on the intent of the illustrator and publisher, the Bible can be made to be a tool of fear and opression, or one of love and forgiveness. That's what cracks me up most about the Fundies--they call themselves Christians, yet they glean nothing from his teachings, just all of the old hellfire and damnation stuff of the Old Testament.

5. There is also a little advice on.....
investing somewhere I found once when I cracked the Bible and just started reading. What a wacky tome. To those who think it's the literal word of God: naw, he'd be more consistent!

11. Who needs parody? Ezekiel 23:20 is the real deal! And here it is!
"There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emmission was like that of horses."

Certain biblical translations squirm around the truth by using namby pamby words like "issues" and things.

Just another reason why the modern day translations have little credibility.

14. Bit of oral in the "Song of Solomon"
As an apple tree among the trees of the wood,
so is my beloved among young men.
With great delight I sat in his shadow,
and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
