"EXTREME PROCESSING" PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE -- ROUND 1

This special Photography Group Challenge is on the subject of "Extreme Processing." In other words, what entrants here have done with their photographs using post-processing techniques (usually involving some form of image editor) to make the final result a significant departure from the original photo, as well as a pleasing image in its own right.

Each entry consists of the final ("after") image, plus a smaller version of the original photo ("before").

The top two finishers in each preliminary round will move on to the finals, along with the next two images with the next highest overall vote totals.

We'll be keeping the polls up through Saturday.

is more radically altered and yet quite successful.

Pied Piper has the capacity for generating a narrative in the viewers mind. Also, regarding the theme of altering photo... the effects work to great advantage in achieving a narrative.

Grass Dancer is aesthetically beautiful but doesn't quite draw me in.

The Bug/Kaliedescope effect is magical... but seems to rely mainly on the computer program that generated it.

The Bombay Hook Waterfowl is most improved image from before/after... I'd label that very good editing.

The naval ship is very striking but seeing the before... I have to say some narrative capacity was lost in the alteration.

She Stands Out In A Crowd is eye catching but reminds me to advertisment art. A bit emotionless.

I loved them all. I picked Pied Piper.

I voted for swiftsure but, I really like waspdeco a lot. Such a talented group here makes it difficult to choose.
