10. LOLOLOL
Our Walmart nickname is almost identical. :D And Taco Smell?

The guy who owns the property bordering ours has a habit of hauling the carcasses of his butchered cattle to the backside of his property and leaving them to rot by the creek. (He owns a meat processing place, and he's a freakin' deputy! Yes, it's illegal, and were it not for me wanting to stay in his good graces, I would have already called DEQ and the USDA.)

Anyway, our weimy sneaks off sometimes, and comes back smelling of rotting flesh. Never fails--my son asks, "Where has Bisbee been?" and I always reply, "He's been hanging out at Burger King."

I've got my SUV bike all readied up for winter weather; I'm going to ride into work a few more times before it gets really cold again. Mrs E thinks I'm insane, but it's cheaper than riding the bus:)

My ex is an avid cyclist; he cycles through a lot of crappy weather. He's looking forward to the warming trend, so he can get back on again.

He has a friend who will cycle through anything. Has some expensive winter tires on his bike, and keeps on trudging through, even in blizzards and minus double digit temperatures...

I have no idea how people make a big deal out of that place. I eat at all these great Las Vegas buffets all year then my mom and sisters insist on Cracker Barrel when I visit them.

Nice handicapping. You get to wait for 30+ minutes in a cramped room full of Republicans and schlock overpriced gifts, then they serve you one modest plate semi-full of unremarkable grub. Some of the veggies are decent but I've yet to find even a tolerable main course.

Like, the town "Woodinville," was "Woodenlarry," and Seattle was "Sealarry," and Ballard was "Ballary."

So, we just got used to it, as a joke, and started calling every place something with "Larry," in the title. For example:

Wal-Larry
McLarry
Hy-Larry

and local favorites:

Prairie Larry (Prairie Lights)
Co-Larry (the co-op)
Larry's (Murphy's, the local bar)

etc.

75. Back before Macy's bought the Bon Marche department stores,
Edited on Tue Dec-06-05 04:46 PM by geniph
people around here used to know what I was referring to when I said K Marche.

Burger King has always been the Burger Thing to me - they go in the back and fry up a slice off the Burger Thing. Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips (are they defunct?) used to be Arthur's Creature - same thing, they sliced off a hunk of the Creature and fried it. Arctic Circle was Ace Eli's (that one confuses people). Nordstrom's is Snobstrom's. Starbucks is Charfucks (they burn the goddamned beans!). Wal-Mart is Sprawl-Mart or Mall-Wart.

On edit: I forgot Kentucky Fried Pigeon.

83. Neiman Marcus = "Needless Mark-up"
Whole Foods = "Whole Paycheck" (I was told that employees called it "Food Hole")

Not a store, but noteworthy:
PG&E = "Pigs, Greed and Extortion" (Actual: Pacific Gas and Electric)
