Have you been good?
if yes .... you get

if no .... you get or :spank:

St. Nikolaus's day

In Germany, 6 December is an important day for children. On the evening of the 5th, children place a boot or shoe outside their bedroom doors, hoping that Nikolaus will fill it with presents.

He will - if you've been good. For naughty children, Nikolaus has a helper, Knecht Ruprecht. A dark character, Ruprecht puts a bunch of dry branches in bad childrens' shoes.

Fill it up .

I remember St.Nikolaus day from when I lived in Deutschland . My ex fiance and I would leave our boots outside our door over night and his mom would fill my boot up with chocolate and all the good stuff , and he would get the little sticks bound together , which came in handy later actually

in other places he's just like a black, unkempt Nikolaus - but I'm not willing to take chances! I've been very good - and I can recite my poem, too, and sing "Süßer die Glöckchen nie klingen" almost faultlessly!

so simple, and they get just as excited. Also, on the first day of school, they each get a schultute. They love them, and I really like making them and shopping for the school supplies. It is so important to keep these traditions around. Growing up, did you get a schultute on the first day of school? I used to get teased for it, but my kids' friends think it's very cool. :hi:

78. Yes I did
I was so proud. I even got a small one when my brother started school a couple of years earlier. And when I came to school he was so mad in the beginning because he thought didn't get one (of course he got one later). There is a picture serie where you can see how grumpy he is because of that. Then he is allowed to carry mine for a little while because I get rid of my jacket and he is smiling all over his face. Really cute and funny.

It is still tradition in Germany to get a Schultüte on your first day of school.

:-)

Not true, of course, but Christmas is a time of fantasy. Right?

Not that the rest of the year isnt, too.

89. It doesn't count Forrest,
You were very good at being naughty. Which is not really the same as being good.

On the bright side, with the price of heating what it is these days, you'll probably be able to appreciate that lump of coal this year.

:D

Glossy 8x10s, maybe.

Now you're sounding like the UN inspection teams that were in Iraq: "I want proof before I don't see anything." :P

I think that deserves a good spanking, at least.

88. I am always VERY good.
However, my kids did forget to put their shoes out last night! I had some chocolate coins in the pantry for them, and then the date slipped past me.
