"It would be great if Sun sales can match this effort in the market place.

Perhaps Sun will become another Intel or AMD, but that means they would have to manufacture chips or have another company do it for them, maybe TI or AMD? With Sun holding the patents this would be a hugh revenue generator should they decide to sell in the Intel/AMD market. AMD is building a new plant in Europe, maybe they can manufacture the Niagara.

Given that this chip is as good as described by Sun then AMD and Intel are in trouble.

I hope they add the ability to talk to fpga chips. Why? Gives even more processing power, a good way to do heavy scientific processing and maybe speed up floating point arithmetic."
