So the cat moved right in and we didn't notice...
I'm not usually home on weekdays but I stayed home today with the first miserable cold of the season. At some point I reached down to pet our little orange kitty Wilma only to discover that it wasn't Wilma.

It was a strange little orange fellow I'd never seen before. He was making himself right at home in our house. And furthermore, our cats all seemed to know him.

After talking to our contractors and the neighbor kids, the mystery is solved. The little kitty lives two houses down. When they leave for the day, apparently he lets himself out the cat door and comes to our place where the contractors let him in because they think he lives here. At 3:00 the kids come home and he goes back home to see them.

He's apparently been doing this for a month.

3. My neighbors cat Mini comes in all the time,
comes in the cat door, has a snack with bob and andrew (the two resident cats) and then wanders back home. She's been doing this for 5 years. She even hops up on my bed if its cold out, kind of my semi-resident cat.

5. I had a cat move in for a month
Edited on Tue Dec-06-05 03:55 PM by TrogL
It decided it lived at my house and just walked in the door and made itself at home. We watched for posters for lost kitties and even answered one but the guy said the description was off.

We'd finally named it and given it its own litter box and one day it simply up and left. Never even said goodbye.

6. Awwwww, he's lonely! How cute is that?
Enjoy the company, it could be worse, right?

Heck, especially if the other kitties like him, that's way too sweet.

7. my cats would gang up on him and run him out of the house
They are most possessive of their house.

They will even ambush the visitor cat, trap it between the pet door and the outside and give it a stereophonic caterwauling concert.

Once it has been run off, they curl up in bed together and groom one another.
