Coke to launch coffee-infused Coke Blak
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE:KO - news), the world's No. 1 soft drink company, on Wednesday said it will launch a coffee-infused soft drink called Coca-Cola Blak in various markets around the world in 2006.

The news of the launch came hours before Coke Chief Executive Neville Isdell was scheduled to address financial analysts and investors in New York.

The new drink, a combination of Coca-Cola Classic and coffee extracts, will be first launched in France in January before being rolled out in the United States and other markets during 2006.

A Coke spokesperson said Coca-Cola Blak will be a mid-calorie drink, similar to Coca-Cola C2, which was launched in April 2004 and contains half the sugar, calories and carbohydrates of regular colas. The formula for the new beverage is expected to vary based on local tastes.

1. You know, I just don't know what the people at Coke are thinking
First they tried out New Coke twenty years ago, and it bombed. Ever since then they come up with some new, weird Coke variant that tastes like crap and doesn't make them any money. Now they're thinking about mixing coffee and Coke:puke:

My theory is that the folks down in Atlanta still have a stash of the "real" Coke locked up somewhere, and once in a while, when they're out of ideas or just plain bored, they get into this secret stash and that is how crap like this "coffee 'n Coke" get started.

8. My list is almost the same...
Minus the Coke Zero. (I'm diabetic, as well)

I do wished they'd knock it off with putting Splenda into every damn thing, though :puke:

Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 07:11 PM by histohoney
pretty far and wide in a few out of the way countries, IT might not fly here but I bet it does great some where else. There are some sodas I've had that would make your hair stand on end but the locals thought it was great. Soy based cola YEECH to me great for my Korean friend.
