Oh my lord . . . Spanish Chocolate, namely Delaviuda is the BEST

chocolate I've ever had. Picture a 3 layer chocolate bar with three types of chocolate, one white, one regular milk chocolate, and one that I can't quite describe, not dark or bitter, but in color it's a light brown. Now imagine that although this is a solid hunk of chocolate, as soon as it touches your tongue, it damn near liquifies. . .soooooo creamy and smooth.

And I'm not even a huge chocolate fan, this was just fanfreakintastic.

Mmmmmmmmmm.

Bernard Castelain chocolate. He's an artisanal chocolatier in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. He makes 'bouchons' which are little ganache filled chocolates flavored with marc. They are amazing.
He also does crystallized ginger covered in a very rich, high cocoa chocolate. Unbelieveably good.
You can get some of his 'tablets' at Sur La Table.

And here's a tasty treat. "Drunken figs", soaked in Port and dipped in dark chocolate - Ahhhhhh!
