Pope Benedict XVI Blesses Olympic Flame

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051208/ap_on_sp_ol/oly_turin_flame

ROME - Pope Benedict XVI blessed the Olympic flame Thursday, helping start the torch relay for the Turin Winter Games.

Beginning its 64-day trek through Italy and neighboring countries, the torch briefly stopped in St. Peter's Square. A Swiss Guard held the flame aloft for the papal blessing.

"May this flame remind everybody of the values of peace and brotherhood that are at the basis of the Olympics," Benedict said from the window of his studio overlooking the crowded square.

The beginning of the flame's voyage coincided with a church and Italian holiday, the Immaculate Conception. The pope made the blessing after offering his customary prayer for the holiday.

4. Well, this is not quite as much of a problem...
As, when someone tries to shake a water wand over the torch.

*Sssssss!* Oops!

7. 12 says rain
so it won't be rain.

8 sort of said they aren't sure-I swear the six o'clock guy won't share his toys with the others, they had what appeared to be an echasketch image

I missed channel 6 (9) -they are dead on IN the city usually.

I would suspect that we will......oh hell I dunno....get some snow. It is coming from the SouthWest. South=snow West=rain or ice we'll see.

If I were you I would go IMMEDIATELY to Ukrops and buy something.

8. Immediately to Ukrop's....great idea.
:eyes:

It is too early for the kids to miss this much school. This doesn't bode well for the winter, plus it is frigging freezing. I have the heat (gas) going and the gas logs to keep the FIL from turning into an ice cube.

Not sure I want to open the bill when it comes.

I haven't coordinated getting wood delivered yet so I am buying those packages outside the :hide: Kroger. $4 one usually lasts a night. Not too bad really.
