Anyone else own a scooter?
I got mine in September, and here it is.

I just want to pet it like a pony all day! :loveya:

7. I've got a schoolgirl crush on it...
It's kind of sad. I like to just go out to the garage and look at it sometimes.

2. Yep
Hubby does. Can't post a picture, don't know how (or don't have the equipment - I'll get my dog to 'splain it to me later.)
Anywho, Mr 'pede got an E-Ton "Beemer" (made in Taiwan), about 18 months ago. Cost about $1900 and gets 80-90 mpg. He loves it! He made a box to bungee onto the rear seat and he can make trips to the store as long as he doesn't need to haul too much or too bulky items. Not much good here if the streets are wet or, cause he's cold natured, below about 60 degrees. And we live in an older part of town, so the brick streets can give his butt a workout. He's had no problems with it, just needs to let it warm up in cooler weather. He'll send it to the dealer in the spring for a service that costs about $100 for both the moped and the lawn mower (and they pick up and deliver).
Good luck with yours. :hi:

6. Hmmm.......
I'll take that under consideration.

Can't say I'm not thinking about prodding the old beehive with a stick, though.

4. Got a broken one for fifty bucks...
Edited on Fri Dec-09-05 09:04 PM by Solon
After some superficial work done(needs a new battery, headlights, one mirror, and signal lights) mine will be good to go!

5. Excellent!
I'm in no way a mechanic, so I bought mine new. But it's exactly like an old Vespa. Have fun!

10. I can do electrical work...
The engine is fine, but if it ever broke, I'm calling a mechanic, but installing stuff like lights, hooking up the battery, and a 5.1 sound system in this little bugger(kidding about the last part), is no problem. :)

8. I do want one of those SO bad!
Alas, I live in an area where I could only use it to visit neighbors that I can actually walk to.

Closest grocery store/shopping area is 10 miles away.
First 5 by narrow 2-lane road (45 mph) and next 5 by 4-lane expressway (55 mph).
No shoulders or breakdown lanes.
Bummer.
:-(

9. We own two!
An old Honda Spree that we use to bomb around the farm, and a newer Riva which is roadworthy.

We use them all the time. I can't imagine life without them.
They supplement the car nicely and ensure the big old truck used to haul things sits 90% of the time.

11. Mine can do 55, but I'd never take it on the freeway
I can keep up with traffic just fine, and can use it to commute. As long as the roads aren't wet, I'm there!

I've learned all of the back ways to get to places, that way I can get to wherever I need without taking any freeways.

Sorry to hear you're boxed in by nasty traffic! x(

Or is that the deluxe model with the mouse wheel inside?

14. No, and I'd rather have one of those than a car any day
The trouble is that when it's below zero, a scooter is a little chilly...
