Late Breaking Matcom News!! Bank Robber Phones It In

Man tries to rob bank by phone

Police said yesterday that the Kiwi Bank branch at Flat Bush was robbed on Wednesday afternoon, when the offender got away with a small amount of money.

The offender rang the bank manager yesterday asking for a meeting and for the manager to take a brown paper bag of money with him.

The meeting was to have been about 50m from the branch, which is on Dawson Rd, but the caller rang back to say he was uncomfortable with the location.

He then asked for a meeting about a kilometre away in Othello Dr, but didn't turn up.

I love stories about stupid criminals. There are so many. Not long ago there were a pair of geniuses that actually pulled up their ski-masks and mugged for the camera during a late night burglary. My favourite is the guy who wrote is hold up note on the back of his phone bill with his name and address printed on the front.

Of course, if they were smart they'd be brain surgeons or something.

5. I remember that. It happened in Detroit. I also loved the one where

they took pictures of themselves with cameras on the countertop of a store they had broken into. Genius is right. ;)
