Well, It's almost Christmas and time for the annual abandoning
of the kitten. Every year, it seems, right around Christmas people pull up to the stop out here in the country and drop off a kitten or two. I think it has to do with putting up the Christmas tree and getting mad when they play in it.

Tonight it is a four or five month old pure black female with orange eyes. She has obviously been inside because she is totally comfortable in my house and has been around dogs and other cats. She purrs non-stop. I hope I can find a home for her as I already have three cats and two dogs. I'm in Southwestern Lower Michgan if anyone can give her a home.

I will never let her suffer or be killed, but I will have to contact animal-aide if I can't find her a home.

1. She sounds beautiful!
I hope that you can find a good, loving home for her. It makes me so sad that people would abandon animals like that. I know it happens, but damn.... :(

5. She is something special
I've never had a cat that purrs while she sleeps. When she is awake she purrs with an open mouth and my dog is infatuated with it. The dog is just slightly bigger than her and only 8 months old so she has loved having another playmate. Zoey only got jealous once when the cat jumped up next to me in Zoey's special place, but she just nudged her out of the way and took her place back.

3. I'd take her in a heartbeat if we can figure a way to get her to CO.
Know anyone taking a ski vacation?

We have the best of everything for a cat here.....

4. I'd bring her myself for a chance to visit CO again!!!
I wish I had time. I love your state. It's the only state in the union I would move from Michigan for. You have the best of everything for more than animals. I really love the mountains but I really love the lake more.

Thanks for the offer.

13. You guys need to start a cat caravan.
I'll bet you could do it here. Each driver drives the cat 50 to 100 miles, and meets the next DUer. I can't take her but I'd do the first leg.

Best wishes re-homing her!

20. Underground Railroads -- many rescues will help with long-distance
transfers - I googled "underground railroad pet michigan colorado" and here are the search results:
<http://www.google.com/search?hs=KrU&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=underground+railroad+pet&as_q=michigan+colorado&btnG=Search%C2%A0within%C2%A0results>

I am nowhere near your Michigan to Colorado route or I would volunteer to help myself -

17. Could they be targeting you?
I had a co-worker once who, after she and her husband decided to get rid of their dog, dropped it near the house of a person who was known to look after strays. It turned out this was not the first time the assholes had done so. Gah. I wish I had fired her before she quit.

18. Please go to YahooGroups.com.
After registering with them, do a search for animal rescue groups in your area. You can list the cat there. I found homes for three kittens through a couple of groups in my area.
