Saturday Art. (dial-up warning)
My wife has made progress on the first in her series of large scale Goddess paintings. Below is what the painting looked like November 21, and what it looks like tonight. Enjoy!

1. Thank you!
It's an amazing transformation. The hands, .. change the entire 'feel' emotion of the painting. I LOVE it. Heidi is very talented indeed.

2. It's coming along nicely.
From what I understand, Heidi plans for this series to be about the Goddess in every women, for their spirits to transcend their physical appearance. I know she'll consider it high praise to know that a DU Goddess girlfriend of hers "gets it." :hi:

6. Man, that's high praise.
I think the resemblance is the tilt of the head. Thank you, Straight Shooter. :pals:

7. Several aspects remind me.
The background coloration, the clothing which is reminiscent of Celtic style, her hair and complexion, the look on her face which is actually very hard to read, whether it's sadness or a lonely sort of wondering.

Looking forward to seeing the finished painting. Takes time ...

We might be a bit late with mailing our cards out (time flies like crazy here), but we'll respond.

13. What is the medium, and what is she painting on?
The ragged edge looks almost like homemade paper, but the painting looks like oils. Hard to tell from the photo, though. Looks like a series of glazes.

16. I'll ask Heidi tomorrow to answer more precisely,
but it is paper she's painting on with oils. It's a study for the whole series which will be done on either canvas or wood.

17. Hi, kwassa,
It's oil on prepared paper. This is the preparatory oil sketch for the first painting in the series, which will be on prepared panel. :hi:

14. Beautiful!
I agree with the comment above, that her look is mysterious and hard to read, but in a good way! She looks very contemplative to me (but I think some of that is in the hands). Thanks for sharing!
