Milk is junk food, Cheetos is not?
According to some bureaucrat in Illinois! :wtf:

Milk Might Be Junk Food In Ill. Schools

CHICAGO -- Cartons of whole milk would be considered junk food, but baked Cheetos would not, under new rules proposed by Illinois education officials.

The new rules focus on the nutritional content of foods, such as the high fat in whole milk, rather than broad categories of food.

The State Board of Education's lawyer said the new rules are "more practical."

1. That's just stupid!
Children need the fat content in milk. It has something to do with the myelin sheath that covers the nerves as they develop. However, 2% milk is a good choice and often served in schools, but a better choice would be organic milk. Kids DON'T need all the hormones and other additives found in "regular" (for lack of a better word), milk.

2. Grown Men should avoid milk completely
Studies show that grown men that drink milk on a regular basis are 10 times more likely to develop prostate cancer over men who don't.
I use non-dairy creamer in my coffee and Veggie Slices as cheese on my sandwiches.
I don't know if the same results apply to Organic Milk, maybe not, it may just be from all the hormones given to commercial cows to keep them producing milk.

4. Cow's milk is bad for you, unless you're a calf
Cheetos, baked or not, aren't good for a person either.

Whe the hell comes up with this crap? I'm so glad my kid isn't and won't be in public school if this is the crap that passes for nutritional advice. :eyes:
