Need some positive thoughts and prayers, please.
As many of you know, my husband is currently in Iraq. He e-mailed me saying that he has some kind of infection in his knee. That didn't alarm me until he went on to say that it is discolored and kind of purple. THAT alarmed me. They put him on antibiotics and are monitoring it right now. I asked him if he felt sick. He said, "Yeah, I feel kind of warm." When I asked if they took his temperature, he said, "No, they don't have that equipment on this base."

O.K., it was here my mind said, :wtf: No access to a simple theremometer? <sigh> Anyway, if it doesn't clear up, they will send him to Germany to find out what is going on. I know, I know, they should be sending him NOW, which is what I told him to say tomorrow when he goes back.

In the meantime, would you please send some positive thought and prayers our direction? Sickness can be just as lethal to a soldier as other things. Thanks so much!

2. If they send him to Germany,
that's likely the best thing that has happened to him. He'll be safe there.

It's amazing that they don't have a thermometer, but if he's on antibiotics, I'm sure he'll be OK. A danger sign would be discoloration in the veins and striations heading to the heart. I trust he's had a Tetanus booster.

Don't worry too much and keep us posted.

I was thinking the same thing about the veins and striations. Don't know about the Tetanus booster, but I'm sure they did that in training (I hope)

I will keep you posted, thanks! :hi:

Except mine to your husband for his courage and commitment. (And your bravery too - it must be agonizing to have him gone and to worry if he's OK.) I just wish we treated our soldiers better.
