Have you ever bought a diet or beauty product which promised
everything and delivered nothing?

I keep hearing ads for this expensive product: "Estrin-D" but when I googled it I found a negative review which says its mostly caffeine.

1. health beauty or diet "product" making promises would be the
first clue to NOT buy it IMO

2. Sure!
Every foundation makeup that promised "the appearance of flawless skin."

Very few people have flawless skin. Some products are better at evening things out than others, but without flawless skin, you're not going to get the appearance of same from any product.

3. I have really nice skin
and I am amazed when people ask me what products I use. Genetics, I tell them. There are things you can do to make your skin worse- sun exposure, smoking- but I really don't believe there is a whole lot you can do to make it better.

7. Can we say "beauty myth" boys and girls?
The only things that work are good genetics, good nutrition, exercise, adequate sleep, not indulging in alcohol/cigs/drugs and a sense of self-worth. And that's it - no magic bullet.

The thing that always astounds me is that people buy into this crap. None of us are beautiful, even the beautiful people aren't beautiful. What does make us beautiful is who we are, our individuality, our uniqueness. I often find that what I find atrractive in a person is exactly what they think makes them ugly.

Khash.

8. On a positive note - Cetaphil products are cheap & work great
I have rosacea, and my derm reccommended them years ago in place of soap or expensive (and possibly irritating) moisturizers.

I can see the difference if I use the moisturizer after getting out of the shower in the morning vs. if I don't.

Unscented, and easy on the skin
