My bed just blew up.

We have a dual control king air bed.
No, not the $$$leep Comfort.
A discount knock-off.
We love it.

She was inflating my side.
It is easier to make up and just looks a little better/neater when about fully inflated. Each night I slowly..let...myself...down...to...right...THERE.

Anyway, she's pumping it up and KABLOOEY!!!
The pump's plastic case is shattered. It's too late and too dark to do a complete post-mortem, but I think the impeller or fan or whatever must have thrown a blade. The pump is inside layers of foam rubber and the mattress cover, so no injuries.

Now I just have to see if I can find a replacement pump.
It's always something.

Should I stop now?

I stretched out on it, and it appears to be at about the firmness I use.
Guess it'll hold until (if?) I can find a pump.

Going to bed without the bladder intact is a bad idea on any type of mattress. :blush: Sorry, I couldn't resist. :evilgrin:

Do you have a backup bed? I think you should disassemble the mattress and see what you can rig up. If nothing else, you'll have fun and make a mess.

But at least it didn't happen in the middle of the night while you were asleep! Can you imagine? Hope no one got hurt.

Hopefully, you still be able to sleep comfortably tonight and get it fixed tomorrow. Say it looks like the fan motor threw a blade? Does the damage look fixable or can you buy a replacement part?

tell your neighbor. In fact, wear that shredded bed as a badge of honor, put it out near the street for trash pick-up 6 days before the actual pick-up.
