I just called work and left a message I will be late.....
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 10:23 PM by Cathyclysmic
I've been having trouble sleeping lately. So I come home at 5pm from a very long day at work that I was only half-awake for.

Beware the Beast Man had made dinner. I ate, took a shower, watched a little of the evening news(just enough to reiterate Chimp was a complete moran) and fell asleep on the couch. The Beast Man kissed me and said he was going to take a nap, too.

I wake up...and it is 8:05. I jump out of bed and before I do anything else, I grab my phone and call work and leave a message that I will be late and I will be in as soon as possible. I'm running around, trying to figure out what to wear, make my hair look relatively normal in the quickest time possible, and just get the sleep out of my eyes.

I walk past the sleeping Beast Man and tell him that I overslept. He asks me what time is it.

"8:09, I overslept!"

Long pause...."A.M. or P.M."

"8 P.M....I just called work and told them I would be late!"

opps.. that will be fun to explain tomorrow at work. :D

1. You ARE tired aren't you? Poor thing. Get some more rest.
:hi:

In all seriousness, I've done the same thing before. Although you feel stupid for a bit, at least you can go back to bed and catch up on your rest.

2. now they owe you.
since you won't be in late, you can afford to come in late without notice one day.

It's true.

;)

4. My brother in law got up once, looked at the clock, threw on his clothes..
Drove all the way down to work (about an hour drive into Detroit where he worked). the sun was already rising...he was freaking out. He runs into the plant, punches the clock, goes to his desk, and a day shift coworker says,"Brian, they ask you to come in and work third shift tonight?" Oops! He drove home in what was not a rising sun, but a setting sun. Two hours of his life wasted due to coma inducing sleep.

6. Thanks....
That makes me feel better. Come to think of it, if the Beast Man hadn't been there...I'd probably be wondering why my security clearance tag wasn't working on the door right now.:eyes:

7. I'm sure I sounded drunk on the voicemail
My only hope is that this is the only voicemail in the world without a time stamp.

8. you know what
you might be able to call back and get it erased, some of the voicemails in our office have that "this person hasn't heard your first message" prompt. Just a thought. :)
