1. It has been my observation that cats like cheesecake.

2. Yeah, but
it made my head explode. At least it wasn't chocolate cheesecake.

The other 6 cats started moving in toward the s.o. once the oldest one got a nibble. That part was kinda funny. :P

3. So was it the loss of the cheesecake or the spoiling of the cats
or upsetting their stomachs (not likely, though they shouldn't have the chocolate kind)? Your SO sounds like a soft touch. My cats get a little cheesecake if there's any around, otherwise I'd eat it all myself.

5. The spoiling of the cats
One of the others just found the bottom of the cup of cheap-ass canned fake cappucino I just finished. That cat does NOT need coffee.

9. Ridiculous. Cats love
coffee, cola, cheesecake, chilli, and just about anything else we find tasty. Unless the cats have sesitive stomachs or need to go on a diet, I wouldn't worry about it.

10. Ham. Mine will kill for ham.
If I want to eat a ham sandwich in peace I have to lock them (or myself) in the bathroom.

11. That wouldn't work with Sunday Girl, LOL.
If I even move the bread (with the bag still twisty tied shut,) she comes over and starts waiting. She does it like this:

For the first 10 seconds,
She waits patiently.
For the next 10 seconds,
She asks politely.
After the first 20 seconds,
it's me or her.
Usually, it's her.
She knows what she is doing.
She starts this awful caterwauling.
She tries to trip me so I'll drop the sandwich.
When I sit down, she comes and takes a big ol' bite
right out of the sandwich.
If I don't offer it first, she'll scream right in my face and
do it anyhow.
If I seem to be particularly enjoying the sandwich,
she'll scream in my face again and bite the sandwich while it is in my mouth.
She WILL HAVE HER HAM, or else.
I gave in a long time ago.
It sure beats stitches in my eyes. I think that is what I would need if I actually tried to deny her ham.

18. what is it with ham?
We can be having turkey sandwiches - no cat shows up. The second my son gets the ham out, here comes young cat - meowing and rubbing him for a piece of ham.

:wtf:

19. Two of the crew come a'beggin' for hot dogs
We carve a bit off the end and give it to them before it gets slathered with condiments. And they know what we're doing even if they're not in the kitchen when the hot dog assembly process starts. :D

13. Evie - the coffee cat - also has a thing for breakfast bars
A screaming meemee thing, mind you. She'll come out of a coma in the opposite part of the house if I so much as think about unwrapping a breakfast bar. Raspberry is her favorite. :D

14. No, I mean she's high-strung to begin with
I'm actually more concerned with the chocolate in that "coffee" concoction, but that one's the cat with the chronic gravity problem - she does *not* need coffee. :D

15. Before I knew you aren't supposed to give them chocolate.
I let (translated Sunday Girl beat me into submission and took it) Sunday Girl would lick one side of a fudgecicle while I ate the other side. She never seemed to show any side effects, but to this day, she wants some chocolate. I wish they could have chocolate.

I have a cat that runs and jumps and seems hyper like that. I'd hate to see what part of the walls he would climb if he had coffee. Yogi once actually put paw prints on a picture of a painting 5 feet off the floor. He actually ran across the room playing his pirate game and ran sideways across the picture. I don't know how he did it.

22. Sounds like gravity issues to me
Evie does the bank shots off the walls from time to time, especially in the atrium where she can fly as high as she likes. A couple of the other cats picked it up from her, but it's kinda hard for the 20-pounder to get airborne.

4. Doesn't cheesecake bind them up a bit?
Another way I almost killed the old guy. He was only about 18 months old at the time and I didn't know shit about cats. That was 10 years ago. Glad to say he's survived every one of my stupidities.

6. The old guy has survived worse
But at 14, you gotta ask yourself if maybe you shouldn't give him dessert :D He only got to lick the back of the spoon. He's really good about not wanting people food, usually.

8. Yeah, you're probably right.
Losing him has come to scare me though. He's my first, the eldest, and I've lost two cats in the last two years. I'd give him cheesecake and meat every day if I knew it wouldn't hurt him.:scared:

24. Interesting tastes...
Out of curiosity, was there any pepper on the mashed potatoes? Because one the cats will get close, but won't eat, and I suspect it's because of the pepper.

21. What's wrong with a little treat from time to time?
As long as it's not much more than a smidge. I have one that looooooves sourdough bacon cheeseburgers.

23. Nothing, as long as it's not something that'll make them sick
If they bother me sufficiently when I'm making a sammich, I'll dot their noses with a teeny tiny bit of butter. That usually keeps 'em busy 'til I'm done. :D

25. The sourdough-bacon cheeseburger lover....
once managed to get under the house, in the crawl space, and would not come out for DAYS.

I finally in desperation went and sat under the house and ate one of said burgers. Cat came right up to me. Extraction successful!
