Dem women are some good looking devils that's for sure. :) The list of gorgeous Dem celebrities is impressive, then just look at a DU pic thread and that confirms it too.

I did a search for my area code, the age was set to 18-35 so I just kept it. I figured there might be one or two interesting women pop up, decent looking, etc. I got twenty hits just on the first page and virtually every one was smoking hot.

I love Dem women. Seriously. God bless our party, we may not be able to win elections but our women are by far the best. :)

So when I'm talking about the party in that way, would it be incorrect to say "our men" as well? Or if I was to say, " We may not have picked up any seats in the last election, but "our" senators are still respectable people." Because that is the exact same context. Do you find that diminishing in general? I'm not being a smartass, just curious. Because, grammatically, and I am a published writer, that is the proper way to say something in that context. I do it without thinking. Now, as for women, there is a different issue than grammar, so, of course, I won't use it like that anymore, but do you find the use of a possessive diminishing in general?

Saying "our" anything... implies ownership. "Our women" has been used for ages to directly imply ownership. It has NOTHING to do with our party. Saying that "our women" are the best... while implying that the best means the best looking, is what I take objection to.

many years ago, and although the romantic end of it didn't work out, we've remained friends and occasional business associates (and she became a friend of Mrs R's as well), for the 15 years since.
