Xanax Saved Me Today
I was informed I had to give a presentation to the big boss and executive staff with with 45 minutes prep time. I can't describe the panic attack I was having as I tore through my bag looking for my little orange helpers. There they were. Took one and a half. They were kicking into high gear by the time the meeting started, and Thank God. Was still nervous, but it was more of a back-burner nervousness where I could actually focus on the topic itself, instead of my own freakoutedness. Not a world-class presentation, but fine considering the circumstances.

God Bless Benzodiazepines.

1. I've found Ativan helps keep me more level headed
had some very scary experiences with xanax, but to each their own.

BTW, what's up with the Kings? The Maloofs moving 'em to Vegas? I hear this is Adelmans last year, regardless. And the Raiders are a straight up embarrassment.

2. Kings are playing w/ as much enthusiasm...
as the Chargers did yesterday. Very disappointing sports time for me right now. What was your bad experience w/ Xanax? I've never tried Ativan. Does it make me sleepy like Xanax?

5. Took way too many 2mg bars
And "woke up" later to discover my friend had knocked over my TV, breaking it. It was like drinking a 5th of Jim Beam minus the nausea. You don't remember what you did and your behavior is as bad if not worse than being drunk. People have actually killed friends, spouses, kids, etc on the stuff and not even realized what they did till it wore off (retrograde amnesia). My dad is a doctor (psychiatrist) and he said the FDA almost banned it, but the pharma lobbyists kept it on the schedule. Just don't go nuts with the stuff and you'll be fine. My fave benzo is good ol valium. Alprazolam (xanax) is just too risky for me.

3. It Doesn't Make You, Uh...Friendly?
I took Xanax one time 'cos I was going to have an MRI and thought I might get claustrophobic. As I'm waiting to be called, the meds start kicking in & I started looking at my husband feeling very amorous.

6. Hydrocodone rocks.
I get it prescribed for intractable migraines. The 10/325s kick ass. I take ketorolac (toradol) for breakthrough pain. It's a non-narcotic NSAID and is injected IM along with phenergen (anti nausea) - which hurts like hell when injected in your butt muscle.

But the best ever is oxycontin. When going to UCD we'd take road trips to Tijuana and buy OCs from the Mexican clinics; you pay $20 for the RX and then cash for the genuine Pudue sealed bottles. Expensive and I don't know if it's still possible to get it there. But man, he 20mg pink tabs snt you to a dreamland like no other. Fan-freaking-tastic. They don't call it hillbilly heroin for nothing. Glad I never got hooked on the stuff.

But really, the best medicine are the herbal remedies from the Emerald Triangle. Humboldt rocks. I am so sick of Florida; I plan on moving back to NorCal within the next year. No more hurricanes for me.

7. Yours are orange?
What mg is that? (or perhaps it's a different co. since Xanax is past the 10 yr. patent which means just about anyone to make it)

And you're right; Xanax is a very helpful drug for simple phobias (such as fear of heights, ect) and social phobias (such as fear of public speaking ect.) In other words, fear you can predict. It's not as helpful with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder that can occure at any time for no apparent reason. Benzies such as Xanax are short acting and unfortunately addictive as well

But they are very helpful when used only on occasion such as how you did. I suffer from panic attacks as well, and agree with you ... Xanax can be a lifesaver... not only during the event but before as well...I learned to not torture myself with my fear the weekend before the presentation. I made sure I did EVERYTHING (practice, practice, pactice :-) ) I needed to do 2 days before the event.

Anyway why are your's orange? Mine are blue (1 mg)

9. Ohhh
But you must understand. I've been taking Xanax since 1998- So 3 mgs per day are not so bad. Actually I think it's damn good not to have progressed further. (sheepish grin- I don't know what else to say) I thought you had a higher dose because I had never seen orrange.

I am glad it works for you and don't change unless you have to. :-)
