5. The debasement is a sight to behold
I have long been of the belief, much like Dr. Benjamin Franklin, Dr. Benjamin Rush, and others of the Enlightenment, that the death penalty debases and dehumanizes us.

When I was 4, I tried to justify getting back at my sister for some perceived slight or offense.

In dispensing my correction, my Mom's simple wisdom, handed down from various parents far and wide since time out of mind, simply stated: "Two wrongs don't make a right."

Sounds like something right out of Poor Richard's Almanac, come to think of it...

6. We are in agreement. Too bad we wouldn't be able to keep dissenters
out of thread we started there. That is exactly how I explained it to my daughter the other day when I brought the subject up with her. She's debating this with some Christians in her private school. They think he should be executed.
