Invitation to a "safe' GD thread on the NYT's choice of BEST BOOKS OF 2005

I've listed the NYT choices of top ten "best" books of 2005 and given a link to another list they published last week on the "100 most notable books of 2005." My hope is that there will be spirited discussion on good choices, bad choices, and books that SHOULD be on the list but aren't.
