I need some movies that burn rubber (No it's not porn related)
Hey everyone, I just rented Dukes of Hazzard last night  and I was kind of disappointed. The racing scenes were good the rest of the movie was well bleh. Willie Nelson was okay but Coy and Vance made better Dukes. Anyhow I wanted to rent some good car chasing movies. Unfortunately the only thing i can come up with is cannoball run and the blues brothers.
So if anyone knows any good movies with lots of car chasing smash 'em up action let me know okay.

1. If you can find it
I highly recommend "Vanishing Point". The original version. It's one long car chase, from Denver to California.

6. No lee majors
sucks ass. This was made in the early seventies, it's an anti hero movie about a guy who transports cars. He picks up a 72 challenger in denver, The Challenger waas one bad mutha fucker of a car, he gets into trouble with the cops and they chase him all the way to Ca, it has a badass ending and I'm not going to give it away.

5. Ronin
Excellent car chase scenes. Plus if DeNiro's involved, it has to be pretty good.

"Dukes of Hazzard" is OK for 90 minutes or so of mindless entertainment. It's a cheesy movie remake of a cheesy television show. To expect Oscar-worthy performances is asking for disappointment.

great car chase in that one. If you want campy, you could also add "Smokey & the Bandit", it's good for some laughs :D

it's about Formula 1 racing but has some great footage. Not your typical car chase movie, but still exciting.

12. here's three
Bullett, as posted above.

the original 70's Gone in 60 Seconds.

and Two Lane Blacktop. it doesn't really fit into what you're looking for, but it's a great movie. it's like an art house version of Easy Rider with a wicked 55 chevy instead of motorcycles.

starring Jason Statham slingin' a big 7-series Beemer around. Also, "The Island," coming out on DVD. I thought the crash outtakes during the closing credits of "Dukes" were interesting to watch.

15. Burnin' rubber isn't a big part of the movie but try The Island.
There are a few really good high tech chase scenes.

I watched Dukes of Hazzard just for the laugh factor.
And because I'm a Southerner stranded in the North.
I needed a Southern Drawl fix. Y'all know what I mean.

European style existentialism wedded with North American muscle car culture.

One of the greatest films ever made.

21. Gran Prix
This is not a smash-em-up, but a fantastic visual account of Formula racing in the mid-1960s. It's a soap opera, but the racing scenes are amazing. They used a goddamn GT40 as a camera car!

James Caan stars in this mid-1960s soaper about stock car drivers. Some impressive Ford products are featured, including a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, which is used as a daily driver!

23. Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry
This is a great chase film. Peter Fonda & Susan George. A coupla hoods rob something, and make their getaway in a sleeper 1966 Impala before switching to a 440-powered Charger. Vic Morrow chases them by air, while all sorts of ill-fated large Mopars with fusilage styling get creamed. If you love speed and hate Plymouth Fury's, this is the film for you.

33. And can forgive horrible acting
And Susan George with an American accent.

But still, yeah; it's my favorite of the genre. Almost non-stop driving. Love it when the cops go through the billboard promoting seat-belt use.

"Speed costs money. How fast do you wanna go?"

Wretched Hal Needham excess accelerated. More Burt Reynolds self-indulgance, but it's fun. All sorts of car stunts, including a scene where Burt intimidates some assistand director by stealing a 1973 Ford Torino that, according to the film dialog, has been fitted with a 428CJ (uncomfirmed from this vantage point, as the FE series engine was never offered in the full-frame Torinos, but once the car rolled over I could see a C6 trans, so it at least has a 351CJ). Oh, they also strap a JATO rocket to a Firebird and jump some shit.

Sally Field, Jan-Michael Vincent and Brian Keith also star, along with about a thousand stuntmen getting screen time and reverence from Burt & Hal.
