What's the stupidest thing you've ever argued about?

I had a friend who I shared several apartments with when we were in our late teens, early 20's. One night we came in from the bar and got into a fight over a box of Stovetop Stuffing - she wanted to eat it for a snack then and I wanted to save it for a chicken dinner. We got into such a HUGH!!111 fight over it that I left that night and we didn't speak for about a month (then we ran into each other at another bar, got drunk and moved back in together).

I don't know what made me think of that - maybe because I was thinking about sending her a christmas card...

most people's would involve their childhood.

I know my brother and I use to fight over GI Joes and Ninja Turtles. One night my brother woke up screaming "No, Falcon's my man!!!!!!"

That Stovetop Stuffing story is a keeper though :)

2. I was living with Sniffa and another couple...

by the end it was Sniffa and I against them... when we were packing to move out, we got into a fight over a box! It was mine, and my stuff was in it, they dumped it out, claiming it was theirs'....completley ridicolous....lousy drunks...

4. Arguments between significant others can be incredibly stupid

but usually there is some subtext going on; the argument isn't really what it seems to be about on the surface.

Dumbest running argument: my ex asking why was I always picking up the empty shampoo bottle when I was in the shower? After a few rounds on separate days the question finally dawned: why are we keeping an empty shampoo bottle in the shower in the first place?

Many couples arguments operate on this level.

5. I have argued about things so dumb

that I don't even remember what they were about. A buddy and I once stopped talking and when we finally patched things up months after we couldn't remember what we fought about.

6. Just about any conversation with my sister.

She likes to argue and will hang on to any argument, no matter how trivial. If she thinks she is loosing she will switch sides and swear that was her position all along.

We rarely speak to each other any more and that alone has done wonders for my mental health.

7. I have a sister like that

She'll bring up stuff from 30 years ago (that was ridiculous to begin with) just to continue an argument. I'm so glad I live 3000 miles away from most of my family!
