My hopes to finally own a cat have been dashed.
Random woe is me rant:

So, I've been cat crazy all my life. I love the furry little buggers. The problem when I was growing up was that my mother is extremely allergic to cats. But she knew how I loved them and every year or two we would get a cat with the hopes that a new system would keep the dander from bothering mom. One year it was a new shampoo that was suppose to lower a kitty's dander output. But everything we tried failed and every cat had to be given away.

When I went to college I lived in a sorority....no cats allowed. When I got married and moved into my husband's apartment....no cats allowed in the complex.

This December we are moving cities because my husband got a job. I figured that at long last we could find a place that would allow cats and I would finally have my own fur baby! Hazzah!

To make a long story short...our search for a home to rent was a bumpy one and the house we finally ended up with doesn't allow cats. *sigh*

So I call you out DU! Show me your furry ones! It's the closest I am going to get for another few years.
:nopity:

1. here's a whole bunch of kitties...
maybe the landlord will reconsider when he sees what great tenants you are.
and the cornish rex i posted are wonderful, low dander kitties. i get no reaction at all from them, and they are like cashmere.
good luck!

I consider kitties to be one of life's essentials on par with food, water, and oxygen. So it's not fair that you're not allowed to have one!

We do a little TNR. He is too smart.

I have been trying to get to a point where I can pick him up, but even when i get there, I will have to use leather gauntlets and a leather apron so I don't wind up in emergency. Hopefully before spring comes the deed will be done. Wish me luck!

A house just isn't complete without a ball of fur lying around the place, reminding you nonchalantly who is really in charge.

Yes, he is gorgeous. The fur color is actually called Ruddy. His mother, Sabrina, is in some of the pics above. He's a real sweetheart ... and a pill! Just now he was shoving things off the coffee table to get attention.

23. The fluffy yellow fiend is Quinn, the dainty white and grey girl is Althea
Althea is like my bed warmer, she'll crawl under the covers and sleep in the small of my back or the hollow of my chest (depends on what side I'm laying on when she decides to snuggle). Quinn just remains aloof and surveys the whole thing. He also likes to perch on my desk and snooze while I work :P

I love bed warmers! None of ours do that -- they like to sleep between our legs.

HAHA! Satchmo likes to sleep on my laptop when I'm not using it. He started up 10 new messages one time and turned on the sound. Guess we have "office cats." :D

Quinn is just strikingly handsome :P

Althea still has a very kitten-like face, and when she looks very contented and relaxed, you'd think she was still the little tiny thing she was when she first came to me :)
