What tips you off that a website is owned by a rw-inger?

For me, its the presence of American flags all over the site, or the obligatory "I support the troops."

What is a dead give away for you that a site is run/owned by a republican?

Rarely will a lefty or a prog admit to calling the shrub "Our" anything nor are we inclined to acknowledge his title. Many of us find it hard to capitalize the P in President if it is not necessary and we rarely capitalize the "B" in chimp. Demonstrations of respect/lack of respect for the impostor are quick clues for me as to which side of the fence one is on.

You should see what I have to put up with from this wingnut I have in a class. He's in Air Force ROTC and whenever he refers to bush in his papers, he calls him the "Honorable George W. Bush."

I told him to stop it because it is an idiosyncracy that detracts from his communication message, not to mention the fact that it doesn't meet the style guidelines, but he said they are required to do this in their program. I responded that his program and my class were two different things.

He stills writes papers referring to the Honorable George. W. Bush.

Now when I see it, I just laugh. Some people will never get it.

and as a musician, that often the rightie musicians that I know (or know about) are not very creative. I hate to say that, because (a) it's obviously a generalization, not saying that "all of them aren't and all of us are" obviously and (b) I just feel bad saying it.

But think about it: Ted Nugent. not a real ground breaker there. On several levels. And the same often goes for friends of mine. This is not to say they aren't good, just that they don't seem interested in stretching the envelope with creativity.

I guess my theory is that generally a desire to 'break ground' and to try new things often in artistic expression goes hand in hand with progressive ideals and more empathetic/sympathetic social politics.

but back to topic, yeah - most RW sites have bad navigation, horrible (or no apparent) lay out, etc.

I can't remember where I saw that now, but it blew my mind. I was visiting a site about fitness. Out of the clear blue, some freeper woman goes off on some tangent about how her workout made her feel enlightened and connected to God and how god would be for the war and some other such bullshit. It was just insane!!!

It makes me wonder what sets them off. I used to try to be friends with them despite their politics, until I realized they are like a tone arm on a record player that is stuck in the groove repeating the same catch phrases over and over again. Who was I kidding? Anything will set them off. Anything! They are certifiable.

I'm glad I am not the only one who has seen this. It helps to know I am not alone in noticing.

People like that don't know what it means to be a friend to anyone. They take on all the catch phrases and what not, because they have no thoughts or ideas of their own. They seem completely threatened by those that are genuinely creative and capable of independent thought.
