Whattaya think of my poem?

I wrote this in my drug(*snicker*) induced haze. Any artistic merit here? It doesn't go thru the process quite correctly(being that I failed the test on this) but whatever. c'est la vie.

We walk around all day, afternoon and night,
Breathing in bacteria, viruses, and mites,
Yet somehow we all avoid sickness and cold,
And live healthily(more or less) til we grow old.

When it works, it's glitter and magic,
But when it's broken it's utterly tragic.
Lymphadenopathy and granulomas abound,
Painful complaints in the doctor's office resound.

Robbins tells us the neutrophil is great,
It attacks those bugs before it's too late,
Tries to clear the mess and erase the slate,
And makes way for lymphocytes and endothelial cells to mate.

Integrins, selectins and bradykinin arise,
In endothelial cells, and temperatures rise,
Through gaps and holes they squeeze,
And follow chemokines like leaves in a breeze.

Finally the troubling antigen they encounter,
Is this the right antigen for me? T cells ponder
And act they must if the costimulatory signal is provided,
By the APC's that Robbins has cited.

Finally the lethal blow they deliver,
With Fas/FasL activation, cells moan and shiver,
And condense and bleb like an old man degrading,
Stoppin the virus inside from growing and mating.

This is how your body fights bacteria and virus,
And when it goes wrong you end up with Pemphigus,
For if your body thinks itself a foe,
T cells think your body must go,
And clinically many symptoms they show,
And none of them leave you all aglow.

So do yourself a favor and worship your body,
Be good all year and try not to be naughty :-D

Eat right, exercise and VOTE DEMOCRAT!
