My husband's cousin was in a wreck the night before last.
He broke his vertebrae (not sure how severe that will be), crushed his pelvis, broke his collarbone, and broke 8 ribs. I am a very optimistic person and my thoughts are it could have been worse. Even though it is really bad, he could have died. He hydroplaned and hit a telephone pole. He had to be cut out of the car and helicoptered from our hometown to here in Jackson. He is only 30, so he is still somewhat young enough to heal pretty well. Merry effing Christmas, huh?

3. Yeah! I imagine he will have lots of painful physical
therapy ahead. But a lot of people don't survive hitting a telephone pole head on. I hope that he won't be paralyzed, but we don't really have a lot of info right now. We are going to the hospital later on this afternoon.

5. no many times they do not
and the resulting trauma to the human body is horrifying.

had a cousin who crashed his car under a stalled tractor trailer at full speed.

needless to say he died almost instantly.

i bet your cousin will be fine eventually and have one helluva story to tell.

9. My brother died in a wreck where he hydroplaned. So I know
firsthand how horrific it can be. That is why I am so thankful for him being alive. It will be one helluva story one day!! :)

That sounds really horrifying about your cousin!! :(

2. Scary accident
The "good" news would be that he didn't sever his spinal cord....

I hope he heals quickly Shell Beau.

4. Yes, it could have been way worse!
But everytime they do an MRI, they find something new. I hope he recovers. He and my husband are close. They are very close in age and have always hung out. He was in our wedding!

6. Being young is in his favor
Got to keep a positive attitude. Those broken bones will heal. Lots of pain though :-(.

8. Oh no, Shell, how terrifying!
I hope it's a best-case-scenario outcome! Sometime's it's amazing what people can survive (and conversely, the seemingly trivial events that can take a life.)

10. I hope something good will come out of this.
A lot of times, I feel we are tested. And we question our lives and how we have been living them. I hope this is an eye opener for him! He doesn't lead a bad life, but we can all improve. :)
