The Human Voice: Am I the only person who can be
aroused by the sound of someone's voice? I find some voices to be just so... ooohh... delicious.

Listening to Diana Krall right now. She's not my type, but if I could kiss a voice... yowza!

How about you?

MODS: I really hope this thread doesn't become a sex thread. It's a simple question not intended to go anywhere besides discussing the effect of the human voice. Let's cross our fingers.

3. I'll concede that, but I think that's based more on what is said +
imagination. I think the sound of a phone sex worker (?) has little to do w/ the purpose of his/her job.

:D

Of course, there're those who'd say I can be aroused by the 'phone book, but they're just jealous. :-)

Besides, have you ever looked in the Las Vegas Yellow Pages? :o

12. not in the LV yellow pages, but in various gay community rags --
I used to walk a couple of blocks into Georgetown to pick up the Washington Blade, but after I caught someone glancing through it at my desk, I don't anymore. There are too many really nasty and disgusting ads for men in there. they show these buff guys completely nude except for their dangly bits covered - I don't need the information in the Blade badly enough to risk someone thinking i'm looking at fucking pornography at work. :grr:

33. We used to joke about things like that in radio.
Radio was the great equalizer for many of us...someone once insisted that ALL radio people aspire to be on television someday. TV was the last thing I wanted to do. Voice for radio, face for radio. ;)

When I was a kid, I used to listen to the radio announcers' voices and imagine what they must look like.

As if. :-)

And I'm not in flirting mode, I swear! Honest!

You're too beautiful for TV, actually -- too many viewers wouldn't be able to concentrate on what you were saying.

Again, totally flirt-free here. As much as I get, anyway. :hi:

24. No you're not - most definitely.
Singing especially.

Just about anybody who can manage a high soprano without sounding thin could turn me straight in a heart beat.

Also a deep resonant bass, preferably singing an operatic role.

Bestest of all - counter-tenor (for those who don't know an adult male who has trained his voice to sing alto) :wow: :loveya: and lots of other things to these chaps - most especially the wonderful Andreas Scholl, he's not exactly hard on the eyes either. :D

But even if he looked like the back end of a bus - I'd still crawl over hot coals for him.

And yes, not that I've ever seen them but he does have all his dangly bits. He is absolutely fabulous. Too bad he was the biggest asshole ever to walk the planet.

35. Next up: Dusty Springfield singing "The Look of Love." BABY!!
What amazes me about that song--it took me years to realize it--is, it's all foreplay. The singer and her object of love haven't even gotten together yet, it's all about the anticipation.

I remember hearing it on the radio when I was very small (grade school), and didn't know who it was singing or what the song was called--it wasn't until a few years ago that I had the "aha!" moment and connected a name and title with that moment, but her voice had stayed with me for a couple decades. That's saying something.
