I want a Boston Terrier
Ever since I was little, I just have adored these beyond sweet doggies.

I've done some research on them, and although it will be a couple of years before I can get any dog or cat, I still find myself in love with them.

I know DU has a few Boston owners, so I was wondering if they'd be kind enough to share what it's like having a Boston (and making me totally jealous) :hi:

1. Terriers
Terriers are my very favourite breed
They're cute and cuddly, easy dogs to feed
They will bring you up whenever you are down
Terriers average 20 pounds

When I walk around this terrier town
The only thing that makes me down
Is when people put bandanas on their dog

Terriers are my very favourite breed
Cute, cuddly easy dogs to feed
Terriers were there in the 11th century
Napoleon had one to prevent misery

Terriers are good with the aged
Studies show they prolong old peoples lives
No one wants to die
Like this guy died
Die die die
Die die die
Worms eating your eyes

You know those mornings that you can't get out of bed
And you'd call in sick if you had a job?

You know those mornings when you just wanna watch TV, eat corn chips and masturbate?

Sure you do

Well when those days happen
What you should do is start thinking about my friends
My little furry waterproof pals
You know who I'm talking about.....

Les terriers sont mes types favourites
Jolies, charment, pas de problem a maintenir
Ils donnest du joie
Quand tu es 'blue'
Les terriers sont a pier pres vingt livres

Give terriers a chance
Do the terrier dance

No, let's not

But if you want your love to show and you want your love to grow
Then go terri, go terri, go terrieeeerrrrrrrrrrsss!!!!!

2. Maggie's my third Boston.
They are a lot like Jack Russell Terriers in that they are very driven and very energetic--but yet they make really good house dogs. Maggie's 8 years old and bounces around the house like a rubber ball. She thinks nothing of jumping on the back of the couch to greet me when I come home. They think they're just as big as the bull mastiff that lives down the street and will think nothing of taking them on--they they'll turn around and want to play with them.

They do snore, some more than others (they have very short airways and some have problems), but it can be very comforting. They can't take extreme temperatures, hot or cold, because they have a short black coat, so they need a very regulated environment.

They are sweet, loyal, funny, extremely entertaining, and I love them ALL!

Puppies are all really big head and great big tummy. My first Boston, Carrie, was just a puppy when I got her, and she loved to lay on my chest right under my chin and sleep. Her little snuffs and snores were absolutely adorable.

Everyone I've know who's ever had one has loved them to death.

I don't know what I would do without my girl.

4. My avatar is my Maggie girl.
I adopted her from the local Boston Terrier rescue. You should see if there's one in your area. These rescue groups do great things, and my local one places lots of dogs each year. I think I paid a $150 fee to the group, but it covered Maggie's transportation from Texas to Oklahoma (I can't believe I adopted a Texan!), her food and care, and the costs of having a vet visit, vaccinations, and being spayed.

With rescue groups you usually have to fill out a pretty extensive form, and you may have to have a home visit before they will allow you to adopt. They want to make sure that the dogs don't end up being abandoned again or turned back to the rescue group.

All in all, it's a great way to find a pet.
