OMG, I just checked the rain gauge.
We're in the Santa Cruz mountains and we've had over 5 INCHES of rain in the last 24 hours!! Dang, that's a lotta rain. It's been wet, wild and windy all day and it's STILL comin' down hard.

:woohoo:

I LOVE a good storm, as long as we're hunkered down inside, 'round the fireplace....Cozy.

7. The weather twinkie...
:spray:

Only registered about 3.5 inches in central Contra Costa, but it was an impressive downpour at times.

9. Yeah, we've got it pretty good out here on the west coast,
all things considered. It's been a very mild winter so far, and it's not even technically winter yet!

I used to live in PA, so I remember the snow. I don't exactly miss it. ;) Good luck and keep warm!

11. Southern California wish we had part of it, but it passed us by.
Here north of LA we were at 30% chance of rain Friday and 20% chance yesterday, and we got nothing.

But it's been cold. brrr....

15. Howdy, neighbor!!
My dad still lives in Ojai and my now-deceased MIL used to live on Silverstrand Beach, in Oxnard.

Small world, eh?

16. Indeed! I did time on the 'Strand too. Had to get out of the fog, though
I lived in California for 5 months before I even knew there were islands to the south of me and mountains to the north! One day they just appeared out of the fog and I said, "Were those always there?" :D

17. That's funny.
Yeah, when I moved up here to the Santa Cruz area, I'd only seen fog in the Ojai valley that just SAT THERE. I'd never really experienced MOVING FOG before coming up here to the coast. I remember that being a revelation to me. It was sooo trippy, the way it rolled in, like a giant wave.

Even now, after all these years up here, it's still very cool to watch happen.

I'm lucky b/c my little town is generally above the fog line, esp in the summer, when SC gets the "June gloom" weather.

:)

Nice chatting with you, catzies! I'm off to bed for now. See ya 'round the lounge, friend! :pals:
