Poll question: How much are you spending this Christmas?
I have a lack of money, but I still managed $83 - $70 on parents, and $13 on grandfather. The rest just get cards.

1. 10 people on my list
<$200, including shipping.

I would have prefered a slightly larger budget, but couldn't manage it and eat too.

3. Nothing - just like last year and the year before and the year before....
There are no children in my family (all of us are 30+), so Christmas is pretty much a time to visit with each other, eat good food, and drink.

4. $125 and I'm near it already. But I'm buying practical items only.
Worth it, and I know they will enjoy them.

6. Unemployed, so...
About $150 on each daughter (2) and very little on a couple nieces and nephews. My wife and I don't exchange presents--a couple stocking stuffers is about it.

7. Hope you find a new job soon!
I have some family money, but I'm strongly looking, too.

11. Me too.
Daughters are grown - one is still in college. We had hoped that the sale of our house would close and fund prior to Christmas, but that is no too likely to happen. Frankly, I just hope to get through the holidays without a suicide. (sorry to be so negative)

8. more than 250...
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 11:44 PM by petersond
but not over 500. I got a large family, i'm the second oldest of 12, and my wifes family is good size also. I spent a solid 200 on my wife, and the others...ah, five dollar store and some clearance crap from box stores...

Edit: Run on sentences, my english teacher would be very upset with me.

13. Including food and drink
On which I spend far more than presents - a little over $500 I would guess.

I hate the crass commercialism, but do love to spend time with family assisted by good food and good wine.
