Welcome to an extra early edition of the Captain Clintmax of the Early Crew show! :rofl: I hope everyone is doing good today!

Here we are with 5 days left until Christmas. Does it really "feel" like Christmas to you?

GOOD NEWS FOR ME: Greekspeak is coming home on Thursday! :woohoo: His father is doing so well that he doesn't need to stay there through the first week of January, so I'm not going to be alone this year! :woohoo::bounce:

10. It's been very busy the past week.
But we are in "crunch time" now and it is going to stay busy through end of buisness Saturday. Last minute shopping don'tcha know.

13. Cold, but otherwise normal
It's 22F (and with the wind chill it feels like 17). Unfortunately this house I work in isn't insulated well at all. I'll be fine once I get home--my upstairs is always toasty.

How was your weekend?

14. Sorry it's so chilly here you are.
My weekend was pretty good except that on Sunday afternoon my cable modem blew up. Of course the cable office isn't open on Sunday's so I had to wait until Monday morning to get it replaced. YOu know what that means...no internet access for half of Sunday and part of Monday. x( That's why no thread yesterday morning.

18. That sucks
I had to log off early so I didn't notice you weren't on. As to my weekend it was the usual-work. I can't wait until the days start getting longer (much longer). I'm so tired all of the time and I'm certain it's because it's dark so much of the time. Of course working nights and sleeping days doesn't help a bit.

Just think though--only about 3 more months until Spring! :bounce:

Only three more months of this shit! :bounce: I've been where you are...I used to work 2am to 10am when I was a district manager at the newspaper I worked at in Missouri, so I went to bed at 10:30am and got up at 7pm.

42. It would be too complicated (if not impossible)
To find compatible evening shifts at two different jobs. Plus, since I'm moving in a few months it would be silly to go through all of that hassle now.

And I really do want to get out of the developmental disabilities field. I've been in it for 18 years and am pretty burned out from it. It also doesn't pay a living wage overall. Mental health is somewhat better and I'll take that if I have to. Ultimately I'd like to get something in a library since I'll be working on my MLS eventually, and would like to get some experience for when I become a full-fledged librarian.

I completely understand about not going through the hassle since you're going to move. I know what it's like to feel burned out...I worked for 13 years in the newspaper business...I was ready to go when I moved into reatil.

Two days left to work after today. I am looking forward to Christmas. Christmas presents are all wrapped. Now all I need to do is getting my apt in order before I leave Friday late morning.

22. I "only" need to clean for myself
but I don't want to come back to a messy apt. after the holidays. Once I get started it is done pretty quickly. Only problem is to get myself started :eyes:

I had the first shop assistant wish me Merry Christmas this morning, and I've got a collection of cards on my computer here at work from other folk in the office.

I know how you feel. Usually I try to avoid acknowledging it too...but then I have to get all the decorations put up at the store, put the music on, and then help people decide what to get someone for Christmas.

Thank you for your well wishes for Greekspeaks dad! One other interesting thing...he's going to be bringing a 6 week old Standard Poodle puppy (purebred) home with him! I can't wait to see how the cat deals with THAT.

47. Pretty decent.
I can't seem to find a happy medium with the thermostat for some reason tonight. I go from shivering to hot then back again. My aunt has been super cold lately, so it's higher than normal right now. I dread that power bill. :scared:

50. Yep! You'll have to sit down before you open it.
I've been keeping mine set at about 65. It only comes in at night really since the days down here in Florida get pretty warm.

70. I would probably set mine a tad higher if left to my own personal
taste, but still it wouldn't be as high as she wants it right now. I'm sweating here. She says that with the below 32 degree nights, it'll help keep the heat in more and maybe keep the pipes from busting. She's paranoid about the pipes. I told her they had the insulation on them under there, but still. She's probably right, but it's eating a hole in my already barren pockets.
