Any other parents up with a kid with the stomach virus?
MMjr.'s been, um, tossing his cookies and ya know the other since midnight. Poor kid--he keeps repeating, "Oh god I feel like crap."

Pleae send good vibes for my big guy--he's 12, but he is still my baby. I want him to be well by Christmas Eve.

1. I'm 40 with Viral Bronchial Pneumonia - Does That Count?
I hope to have my voice back by my birthday (Monday). If I can breathe normally by then, that'd be nice too...

5. Yeah, on top of the virus, he also has a cold.
I can't give him his medicine, because he's throwing up ever 15 minutes.

Are you better now? I hope so.

He has the flu, laryngitis, and is *still* tossing his cookies after three days.

8. Eek! Did he have a rash?
My son isn't running fever, but he has a rash, and stomach virus symptoms.

IF he also had a headache and a fever, I would have already taken him to the ER...viral meningitis is going around here. :scared:

Sending warm wishes to your little kiddo that he's better before Christmas.

9. Right back at you guys :)
No kid should be sick for Christmas.

And no, no rash. I think that he gets run down toward the end of the day, and the more severe symptoms start coming back. I keep threatening to sit on him to keep him on the couch. :)

10. Same problem here.
He can't be still. I know that he needs to run to the bathroom, but in between bathroom visits, he's squirming, getting up and down to fix drinks (which I would do for him), and chasing the remote so that he can watch cartoons.

:banghead: I told him that he would feel better if he would just be still! Isn't it funny how kids sometimes get more hyper when sick, versus adults who just want to lie in their sickbed.

11. :)
They get stir crazy. I banished the dogs, and pushed the coffee table over, so that he can have everything that he could ever possible want *right there,* and he keeps finding reasons to get up. :)

13. Not this year, thank God.
But last year, I had all 5 of my kids into the Emergency Room right before Christmas with 9 infected ears. We were all terribly sick.

Aw...even if he is 12..that is a miserable experience, probably worse for him than if he was younger. Hope he can pull out of it in time to enjoy Christmas.

Good thoughts to him and you.

Flat gingerale and soda crackers too.

15. How is he today, Maddy?
I hope that it releases him ASAP -- that is pretty miserable, especially having cold and gastro symptoms at the same time. :-(

And especially with the Big Day around the corner. I hope that he is doing better today.

18. Yup, 24 hours only though
Then ridergirl was back up and feeling fine.

I think the worst of it for the kids is that first time they throw up when they fall prey to the virus, they typically don't hit the bathroom in time. What. A. Mess. And it's usually in the middle of the night - stripping sheets, applying baking soda to the mattress, and airing out beds while fighting down the sympathy gag reflex. Of course you have to put them in your bed with the spouse and a bowl so (hopefully) they don't throw up there! And then there's no room for you so then you end up sleeping on the sofa, waking up with a crick in the neck....

Gatorade and crackers or pretzels are my little one's preferred stomach virus antidotes.

I hope MMjr's stomach virus only lasts 24 hours. It's misery! Ridergirl is sitting here next to me and wants to wish him a speedy recovery.

I was up long enough the next morning to open my presents and then resumed vomiting.

22. My two year old hasn't eaten much in 3 days.
No vomiting although his cousin he saw Monday did. He is drinking more juice now so that is good... if the little stinker slept in better it would help. He is a 7:30pm - 5:30am cycle now its killing us.

I think he has given it to me too my stomach isnt feeling very good this afternoon.
