"King Kong" Is A Great Movie
If you're into beastiality. Seriously, it was well made, but it's nothing that we haven't seen before. The story is the same as the original, and the scenes on the island were already done by 3 Jurassic Park movies. Nothing about the movie felt original in any way.

And there is a strong beastiality feel to the movie which kind of weirded me out a little.

1. I thought the original had more of a beastiality feel

2. Hate to break it to you, but it is a remake...It can't be too
"original."

Since dinosaurs were used in another movie, you can't ever use them again?
Damn, there goes the slasher movie genre.

3. There Have Been Re-Makes That Offered Twists on The Original
This one offered none.

4. Weird how the fundamentalist groups aren't picketing this movie.
Surely, beastiality is NOT something that promotes decent, wholesome family values...

Paging James Dobson!

5. I disagree
The original and the 1976 version had overtones that suggested that, but there was nothing even remotely sexual about the new film. I found the new film to present a very different friendship that was more reminiscent of Jane Goodall and her work than it was of Jessica Lange or Faye Wray being stripped and fondled by Kong. It presented Kong as the last of his kind and protecting his "territory", and Ann as the human who successfully communicates with him and they thus bond, but not at all sexually.

6. That's a good read
on a movie I consider good enough to see more than once on the big screen.

7. I plan to see it again
I am a huge fan of the 1933 version despite its flaws. I think Peter Jackson did an incredible job of recreating the spirit of the original while removing the naivite and ignorance so apparent in the original.
