Is something wrong with me? Sudoku puzzles do not appeal to me
I've been hearing about them here on DU and from friends. I don't get the attraction or understand the addictive quality.

I guess I'm lucky?

3. I don't really know either, so I guess I'm still in danger
of becoming addicted.

Just say not to Sudoku

4. I like them
I first learned about Sudoku when I was in England last summer. It was huge over there. I recently started doing them in our local paper and it is very addicting once you get going.

5. Is it just something that occupies your mind, allowing you to escape
your everyday concerns?

I suppose that a good shot of Jim Beam will do the same, but that option is not one I'm into, either.

And is satisfying when you figure out the puzzle. Besides it's said to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease, so I tell myself it's preventative medicine. :-)

20. Maybe I'm too far gone to be able to do it.
That could be the problem...

I guess I'll have to work on a foreign language instead.

6. yes, you are lucky.
Stay away, stay FAR AWAY from them. When you dream about them, it's too late, you are hooked and need a 12 step group. I do them in books, I do them online, I have a special hand held electronic fucking sudoku, I've done circle sudoku, I've done 1-9 AND a-g Sudoku, and I bought my kid a kid's Sudoku book so I could have an addiction buddy. I'm too far gone, there's no hope for me. Next stop: skid row.

Turn back while you can.

14. Uh-huh. And WORDoku and super challenge sudoku
(ok that one is almost impossible to do, I'm sorry!) and 1-18 Sudoku, Create Your Own Sudoku.

Can a three go here? No, can a four? Can a five? Can a six? YES, it's six there. Ok what about here? Can a one go here? No, a two? No, a three? YES, it's a three.

Ug.

23. Same here. Crosswords are more fun. I work w/ numbers all day
and the last thing I want to do for "relaxation" is play with numbers

It's probably a good thing because I've heard they are addictive!

12. Yeah, thank God I felt the same way about Cocaine in the 80's
LOL. That could have been a heap of trouble!

But seriously, I don't need another time-wasting diversion competing with my DU addiction.

21. Me either. I love crosswords, but the sudokus just frustrate me.
I get part way through one and get stuck, and I just get annoyed and quit, although I'll stick with a crossword for darn near ever til I get it done.

22. I LOVE Sudoku!
It has brought pencils back into my life. I have to admit, I was thrilled to find scores of Japanese Sudoku books when I went into a Japanese bookstore in the International District here.

24. Well, thanks to the Firefox extension "Dictionary tooltip" and the
en.wiktionary.org selection, I now know what a Sudoku puzzle is.
