I'm feelin' lonely, y'all
I think it's an aftereffect of spending a short amount of time with the family this past weekend. May sound silly, but the loneliness is tugging on my heart.

17. Joan Jett once said that you can feel all alone in a crowd
of friends. It's true, imho. If loneliness has you by the short hairs, the only thing you can do is try to work your way out of it and bide your time while it is depressing you. And it will. I am thankful for my aunt and my cats and some great people on DU. I get pulled out of feelings like that on a lot of ocassions. If this helps, and I hope it does, we are here with you.

40. I know exactly how you feel
I loved spending time w/ my family over Christmas, but here comes one of my two least favorite holidays... New Years. I have no plans, no one to do anything with, no one to kiss at the stroke of midnight.

While I usually feel so blessed to have such a great family that I love to spend time with, now I feel very alone.

New Year's Eve is bittersweet for me, too. It's also a countdown to my birthday, which feels odder every year. This year, I'll be with my family - but I'm very much aware that those days are coming to an end in a few years.

After everyone's asleep that night, I'll be here. With my family, that will probably be around 10 pm. We can look forward to a better year ahead, with all the other fine people of DU.

82. So you are much closer to my neck o' the woods
I do understand what you are feeling, though. There have been several Christmasses over the years where for various reasons I've not been able to be with my family. I really missed them most at that time.

84. Well I'd give you a brew,
