So I'm watching 'Shallow Hal'
on Faux, and I've never seen it, and I got a phone call right after Rosemary thought he was ripping on her at the lingerie counter. What did he say to her that made her change her mind about him?

2. That's an excellent movie.
I love it, for more than the obvious reasons. It speaks of beauty within, and ugliness as well.

I believe he apologized right after the store manager came over, and he begged her to go with him to get something to eat. He was rather earnest.

3. Okay, but what did he apologize *for*?
I mean, he doesn't even know why his flattery didn't work.

I'm beginning to see the advantages of TiVo, and that's bad.

4. He made some remark about wanting to see her model the undies.
Then asked her if they weren't way too big for her.

6. Yeah, I caught that
What I meant was, he didn't understand why she reacted the way she did. He couldn't. So did he apologize for "whatever I said" or what?

Or am I thinking too logically for Hollyweird?

12. I just remembered that I lent this out to a friend.
Fortunately, I remember who, and will be sure to get it back from her. :)

5. Several years ago, I was working with a very unpleasant fellow
who thought this movie was disgusting. I found his reaction...the vehemence of it...amusing.

13. The thought of a man having sex with an obese woman
and the thought of Gwyneth Paltrow being obese.

As far as this guy is concerned, women exist for men's pleasure. Small wonder his wife left him.

15. I hope you casually let him know
that no woman wants to have sex with a guy whose hoo-hah is as tiny as his.

11. Tells you a lot about people, doesn't it?
I use the movie for teaching/confirmation purposes... "learn to see others in the way that God sees them."
