3. It's not safe to eat anything in the fridge.
It's cold and dark and you'll run out of air.

7. Pork is never safe to eat.
There is always the danger of trichinosis. But, of course, I am a vegetarian, so I don't eat dead pig flesh anyway.

9. Trichinosis is extremely rare these days.
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 05:59 PM by ocelot
Getting it from pork, even undercooked pork, is no longer very likely.

That said, there are plenty of other reasons for not eating a slimy old gray lump of meat that's been sitting in the fridge for awhile.

8. Does it have an expiration date stamped on it?
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 05:57 PM by ChoralScholar
If so, you have until 12:00AM (1:00AM eastern) on that day to eat it. At exactly that moment, it becomes poisonous.

Sorry.. silly reference to another thread.

I suppose it depends if it's raw or cooked.

11. Smell it
If I don't like the way it smells, I don't eat it.

Mr GoG is less picky than I, and has yet (I emphasize yet) to be hospitalized from eating rancid animal flesh. When I complain that someting doesn't smell right, his comment is, "It's just a bit gamey."

I don't play games with meat.
