Call back from an assistant director-I get to read for a part tomorrow....
Edited on Wed Jan-04-06 03:34 PM by Rowdyboy
Okay, its only a low-budget flick being shot here in central Mississippi but its a SPEAKING ROLE! I've been in two movies as an extra but never had a speaking role!

The director is Lance Hammer, working title of the film is "Ballast", and I think I'm auditioning for the role of a bartender (it was mentioned in the first interview).

Please send prayers, karma, warm-gooey thoughts, advice etc my way. I've never done any REAL acting, and have no interest in a career, but this sounds like an opportunity that could be great fun and a wonderful learning experience...Just think of the stories I'd have!

4. Not THAT kind!
God, its about 30 years too late for that! Its the story of black twin brothers, one of whom dies and how it affects the other. Set in Mississippi, I'mnot sure of the time period.

No, its definitely not THAT kind of film. Thanks for the laugh, though!

7. I was once
an 'Actor'for which I was paid. It was a training film for a large manufacturing company.

I found being an 'Actor' to be very difficult. Seeing the results on the TV screen made it even way worser, I say "O-boy." never again. At the time I was a member of a large player group. My specialty was sound systems and sound effects. Now that was fun.

But good luck to you Rowdyboy.

8. info for you
here you go:

http://www.moviebytes.com/ws/winningscripts.cfm?ScriptID=2378

Lance Hammer graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Architecture and worked as an art director in the studio film system. "Issaquena", a short film excerpted from his feature screenplay, "Alluvial" (2001 IFP/West Producers Lab selection, 2001 IFP Market Emerging Narratives selection), was his first film as a writer, director, and producer. It traveled the festival circuit in 2002. "The Imperfect Cell" was selected for the IFP West Screenwriters Lab, the IFP Market, and the Berlin Film Festival Co-Production Market (Mr. Hammer was also selected to participate in the Berlin Film Festival Talent Campus). The script has won, or placed a finalist in, multiple screenwriting competitions.

his only directorial gig:

"Issaquena" chronicles the decay of a wealthy Mississippi Delta family in the 1930's. Conflicts of class, race, and sexuality peak as 16-year-old Delilah Birch employs body and privilege to empower herself against her controlling father. The unexpected result demonstrates ignored wills do not remain invisible forever.

11. I'm an AD, and I'll give you some inside tips, to guarantee you'll get it
Some things NOT to do:

1. If the director has his dog with him, don't say "dude, your mom's hot".

2. Unless you're Mickey Rourke, don't show-up wasted.

3. Don't say you're "only acting until my solo CD picks up some momentum".

4. Don't complain about the size of the rehearsal room sofa.

5. Never, ever kick the Production Coordinator until after you get the part.

6. Don't key any Range Rovers on your way through the Lot.

7. Don't say "This would be a great place to make a movie, if it weren't for all the big, fat, lazy, stinking Teamsters!".

8. Don't criticize the denumente, no matter how moronic it may be.

9. Don't say to the writer(s) "hey, don't you work at the Arby's?"

10. Don't whip your dick/tits out.

Break a leg!!

Just a thousand or so. Then I'll ask "Where's my trailor? And I'll expect fresh fruit and champagne every morning". Bet that'll get it for me!

24. That can be fun. Anti gaming hate him and now a battle over
corporate interests with his Lt. Gov!!

I have to wonder if he is tied up with any of the lobbying dillemas of his party. His was the largest lobbying firm in DC, after all. ;)

You are in my prayers - good luck to you and promise to remember all of the little people that helped you along the way.

25. Since this is her last term, I'm really not sure why she's doing this....
Barbour can finish off her in the party if she pisses him off.

Knowing that asshole, its some plot to grab even more power.

26. Maybe there is the rift in the party we can only dream about.
I mean the pro-Bush/neo-con camp versus the old time GOPers.

Maybe she is shifting back to the old timers and maybe, just maybe she knows that he is some how tied to all of the impending lobbying scandal.

Maybe she is posturing to seize power back (oh please, oh please, oh please)

They are in panic mode and Tuck is just power grabbing now, to not be tied to the fallout.
