See, first of all, we're not married so that's one reason I forget about it. Also, I forget about it every year because he and I were good friends first and spent a lot of time together anyway, so I never knew what the 'official' first date day was because I don't know that we really had one. And about two months ago he announced we were breaking up and it was horrible. We've since worked some things out, but he still insists on "no labels" so technically he's not my boyfriend, I guess. But that made me think we weren't going to pay attention to it this year too since we're "starting over."

So get this: I happened to fall into a great deal on an iPod through someone at work this same day. I bought it for him to surprise him just because he's been whining about how badly he wants one for about 2 years and there it was. So, I luck out by looking like I remembered and I don't have to scramble for a cheap gift and he lucks out by getting an iPod.

Now with any luck I'll actually get to see him between our work shifts for more than 30 seconds today to give it to him. :D
