I went to the Salton Sea a couple years ago on a tour for work, and if you look north over it there is a BIG mountain that has a good snowcap even late in the year.

As soon as the temperatures rise, Mt. Baldy loses its snow....

It is dry as dust during most of the year.....

Whenever it has snow, as it does now, the professional photographers are out in force to capture those elusive images...

I saw one such photographer today, in the park where I took mine....
