DU NYC Gathering in NYC: Feb 4th, 2006

Basically what's going on is some of us from out of town will be in NYC for that weekend and we want to put together an afternoon of socializing in NYC because hell New York City has some of the best DUers. Some of us had talked about having the gathering back in December but the cost of hotels in NYC during the holidays were outrageous so we're having it in February (weather providing of course!)

So we're hoping more than like 3 people show up, but if you're in NYC or the area and free for the day come hang out with us (us being Joan_Alpern, JimmyJazz and myself) at Rudy's Bar & Grill

Who: All members of DU including their friends and family
Where: Rudy's Bar & Grill, 627 Ninth Ave. (Midtown West), between 44th and 45th Sts.
When: Saturday, February 4th, 2006 at 4pm til whenever


No need to RSVP but please realize that this party is weather pending. If a blizzard comes through some of us out-of-towners will not be able to make it but will post/call and let people know the status.

We had a DU gathering last year (hosted by the lovely & talented Liontamer!) at Rudy's and the bar was absolutely perfect. Divey enough so that we didn't have to fight for tables from the dinner patrons, cheap enough that we could enjoy some drinks and not go bankerupt and there is a small outside patio out back where one can smoke and drink beer. Sure, it may be cold but we'll just snuggle up some more.

So I hope to see everyone there. If you have questions about the location or anything, please PM me. This is not some major blow-out - hopefully about 10-12 DUers getting together in the 2nd best city (hey, I love Philadelphia!).

Just a warning - this is the SATURDAY before the Superbowl (which is on the 5th). Personally with the Eagles not in the Playoffs I'm already getting into Basketball & Hockey season.
