All new account numbers for all funds. All new forms for purchase orders, request for payments, and about a dozen other standard financial forms. All new procedures. All effective as of 1/1/06. My office was informed...TODAY!

We have to reprogram all our software to comply to these new requirements. We're at a standstill until this is done. Would have been great to get some NOTICE!

Not only that, but they reset the paycheck schedule for 2006 so everyone who thought they were getting a check today isn't getting a check until next week.

It would have been great to have found out about that before today as well.

I'M GETTING REALLY FUCKING SICK OF THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, working part time, while great because I'm spending more time with my son, really blows because I'm doing the exact same job, just in fewer days for less money.

I really think I'm ready for a change.

1. The ol' "shift the pay back a week." It's a great legal scam...

3. Dude, that's absurd.
That kind of non-planning sucks to work in. Any chance for something else/better/different in your area?

4. Now my boss was just talking to me about...
...trying to get me bigger raise for 06.

Ideally, I'd like to move upstate a bit. (Not too far. Not actual upstate, but the New York City version of upstate.) I applied for a Development job at Bard, but the position had already been filled. I'm trying to use this as an opportunity to introduce myself, however, so that I may be considered for the next available position in Development. Or hell, maybe they'd create something for me. My current job created my position for me.

Anyway, I'm NOT going to bring everything to a standstill. I'm going to use the old forms until we can bring our systems up to date with the new standards, and if they don't like it they can blow me. If they want compliance, they should make it possible for departments to comply.
