Oh, and invest in some screen protectors, too. The kind that go on the LCD screens of digital cameras. Oh, and if you can find a hard case, so much the better. I have a hard case, andI've dropped my iPod a couple of times with no ill effect.

i've just ordered a hard case, and some different earbuds. the ones that came w/ my nano don't work for me.

5. iPods scratch like no one's business.

Apple earbuds aren't the greatest. I have some noise-cancelling ones from Phillips that work great on airplanes and the gym.
