what's the goofiest thing you've ever seen your pet(s) do?
I have seen cats turn themselves inside out over catnip and furry mice. Daddy stalks the red laser dot on his hind feet, as if he were Godzilla. Cocoa scales a wall to sit high on the top of a closet. Harry eats yogurt; Richard likes to be wrapped in a towel after I've had a shower; Toby kick-starts things. Petey licks anything that moves.

What goofy things do your pets do?

1. My little dog rides on the back of my big one sometimes.
Sometimes she'll just hop down off the coach or something and catch a ride on the big dog for a couple seconds before falling off. It's always fun to watch.

When you tell the big dog that there's a "squirrel" in a tree, she tries to climb it and sometimes bites the bark.

The little dog also likes to attack feet. And while she's doing that, she makes noises like a human baby.

2. If you're standing up anywhere in the house, Althea will walk up to you
and lay down across your feet, belly up and force you to rub her belly.

Or, alternatively, she'll stand in the door, meow at you and literally fall down on her side with a loud THUD and not move until you rub her belly. She has mastered the THUD so you can hear it from quite a ways away, even when she's on carpeted floor :)

3. THUD
We have thudding cats, but none quite that insistent. ;)

4. Jump feet first for the dresser.... ... and miss
Our girl cat. I have no idea how she came up short on a two foot jump but she did. She went up and out...and then just stopped moving in the air. Fell right down to the ground. She gave me a "What the.." look, rolled over and walked away shaking her head. I was late for work but had to stop and laugh out loud. I picked her up to check on her and tell her I loved her.

Really funny.

When she was really little she pulled out books from a 7 foot bookstand to create a system of steps to get to the top. She also-opened the stove (using the towel hanging on the handlebar), almost flooded our old apartment, figured out how to open door handles, turned the computer on, and has a real jones for shoe polish.

5. We had a wind-up walking pig one time....
We put it on the floor and it started walking away. Our mini-schnauzer Ruby ran up and sniffed its hindquarters like she would do with a real animal.

Had us in stitches.

6. Had a ferret that hated our cow-shaped porcelain creamer, and smashed it.

Seriously.

Bert, one of our ferrets from long ago, took an instant dislike to our black-and-white, cow-shaped creamer (the porcelain "udder buddy"). It was on a windowsill, and she kept trying to attack it. Eventually, we had to move it to a shelf above our microwave. One day Bert scaled the microwave cart, got up onto the shelf, and shoved the porcelain cow to a nasty end on our hardwood floor. We came in to see her getting down, leaving everything else on the shelf untouched.

7. Lola the half wit pomeranian who likes to take showers with me likes to
jump up on the couch with her tennis ball, then drop the ball on the floor to chase it. She tries to get air with it for distance...

She likes it better when she gets a bounce out of it.

She's VERY silly.

10. Our silly Pit Bull Deuce fell for a foster kitten...
he came into the spare room we kept the foster kitten in (he was a sphinx/munchkin mix...kitten just looked WRONG!) and picked up the kitten by the scruff. He then gingerly placed the kitten up on the bed, at which point he jumped up onto the bed, laid down next to the kitten, and gave it a bath. The kitten of course loved this attention...he'd purr loudly when Deuce would fuss over him.

The kitten went on to cat rescue (we were a temporary holding spot) and poor Deuce wondered where "his" kitten went. It's actually kind of funny, since he's petrified of cats until he gets to know them and is sure it won't show claws and make that hissing noise! :D Our Pit/Rottie X Weezee tries to nurse any baby animals we get in...watching her and Deuce fret over a trio of abandoned kittens was hysterical (the things my vet-tech wife brings home from work...hehehehe)

13. I watched my silly (neutered) male dog
be unable to decide which leg to lift one day and tried to lift them both at the same time. It was hilarious.
