Today is the last straw. Now, at work we have to ASK PERMISSION from a supervisor to go to the bathroom. I don't think I have had to do suck a thing since elementary school! What is next, hall passes? I signed on to work in a professional environment. I deserve more than this, and it is just completly idiotic that they are treating employees like fucking children. This is an office! Not a fucking license plate factory at a god damn prison!

Fuck!:grr:

I refuse to ask permission. If it gets me fired, than so be it. I am not going to be treated with disrespect.

10. Better than a fit
Have a T-shirt made that says, in little kid letters, "I peed my pants because my boss wouldn't let me go potty."

Stash it in your desk or wear it under your shirt. Then, when you're gonna quit, put it on and pee your pants.

I like your attitude. Since you're leaving anyway, why not try to start a union before you go and really piss off management! ;)

5. The people I work with are too stupid to know what a union is.
They don't care about politics, the world or anything of value. They are happy with their bootleg DVD's and magazines.

8. File a grievance
with the state department of labor. Those kind of rules could be illegal in your state.

9. Do you have any Shipbuilding experience? And live in San Diego.
If so You can get $23.00 an hour in a union shop and be able to take a leak any time you want to without asking for permission.
I'm serious.

11. you could also be creative
if no one else is happy with the new "mother may i" permission to potty requirement, get together & bombard the shithead who created this rule with "i gotta go potty" requests when they're really really busy. about one every two minutes should do the trick.

13. LOL
I could not believe it when I got the memo. I thought it was some sort of joke.

The people I work with are complete idiots. Total Morons. I have been taking passive-agressive long lunches and long starbucks runs just to piss them off.

I do my job, and since the people I work with are so incompitent, I end up doing their job as well. In half the time. I am an epic multi-tasker. I just never expected to be doing the job of 4 other people when they are just sitting on their asses eating doritos and surfing the net.

14. I wouldn't ask permission...
I would just walk up to my supervisor and say, "I'm going to the bathroom" and then just walk away.

19. Better yet...
Poke your head in his office when he's in there with HIS boss and say, "gonna go take a shit now...holler if you need anything." Then call the fucker on your cell phone while you're on the toilet.

16. Must be contagious. Mr. Graywarrior's boss quit after 10 years
because she went on vacation and when she got back, they had moved her office, then they wanted her to report to the "new guy" after she created the program she was running and making the company close to a million bucks each year on JUNK CAR sales.

Needless to say, employee #2 gave his notice right after she did, and Mr. GW is giving his next week. Now they have no one to run their program. The best part is they have no idea what Mr. GW's boss did to make the money she did, so they are so so screwed.

17. Yes, I worked for a company like that.
Edited on Mon Jan-09-06 08:28 PM by RebelOne
Luckily, I was laid off and collected unemployment. It was a real sweat shop. The pay was great, but I had no freedom. If I had to go out to the parking lot to my car, I had to ask permission. We only had two breaks per day and a half-hour for lunch. Try to microwave your lunch in a half-hour when you have to get in line behind 50 other people.

20. Well, some of us can't use the bathroom at will
I am a teacher. I get to go to the bathroom at lunch. That's it.

Nurses and cops also are deprived of the bathroom whenever they need it.

I agree that this seems like a silly rule and I don't blame you for feeling like you are in elementary school. But please know you are not alone.

26. My point exactly
I can't see quitting my job over bathroom privileges. But then, maybe if you are used to going at will it would be a hard adjustment.

a lot more than 12 resumes. I have to send at least 50 before I even got an interview. Have you tried listing on Monster.com?

you need to, without asking.

See what they say. Anyone says anything to you, ask how they'd like you to escalate the matter to your State Labor Department.

This cannot be legal. Just don't do it.
