SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick, booted from the team last week for his behavior on and off the field, was charged Monday with pulling a gun on three teenagers during an altercation in a restaurant parking lot.

Vick surrendered at the Suffolk magistrate's office after three warrants were issued for his arrest Sunday, Magistrate Lisa Noel said.

The 21-year-old Vick was charged with three misdemeanor counts of brandishing a firearm, and was released on $10,000 bond.

If convicted of all three counts, Vick could be sentenced to up to three years in jail and a $7,500 fine, police spokeswoman Lt. Debbie George said in a statement.

1. same old, same old
another pampered athlete who has never been held accountable for anything besides sports his whole life. added to that is he thinks he has already accomplished something because he has a successful football brother. he felt that virginia tech was just a layover to the nfl and had no reason to act like anything except the next big thing.

these guys are treated like rockstars their whole lives, given free rides to everything, their faults and failures in everything except football are taken care of by coaches, admin, alumni, etc. its really no surprise when they go off the deep end.

parents just turn out evil.I see it time and again.There are criminals whose crimes are so heinous and they have no remorse what so ever.Those are born killers nobody screws up parenting that badly.

how many chances can a guy get? REpeatedly disciplined for reckless behavior, I can't believe this guy is going to get a shot at the pros. Like someone said earlier, he'll fit right in on many teams

Well actually his brother is. The Tech fans (wink wink nudge nudge) turned on Marcus very quickly (wink wink nudge nudge) but Marcus doesn't care-he has more money than he knows what to do with and he has been treated like royalty for 10 of his 23 years why would things change now?

What's wrong with him? He is spoiled.

or at least maybe he WAS a law-abiding gun owner, until he WASN'T.

Does anyone know if he was in legal possession of the gun? I would think he was, else the charges would have been different.

I did not see anything in the article about the the gun being legal or not.
